the 3-D visualization of under-
ground processes such as those used in remediation. This techno-
logy (Video 1.5b), when used either separately or in conjunction with other geophysical, hydrologic, or geochemical methods, is a power-
ful tool in defining the initial con-
ditions and the interactions be-

tween the remedial process and the contaminated environment.
At the Savannah River Site, this technique has been effectively used to monitor the effectiveness of air permeation in the air injec-
tion and vacuum extraction tests.

Accomplishments

This technique has been success-
fully tested at the Savannah River Site. The technique mapped changes in fluid saturation as the subsurface conditions were modi-
fied by the remedial process dur-
ing
air stripping. This technique has also been used to evaluate the effectiveness of the Radio Frequency Heating and Six-Phase Heating tests.
